M4 Sherman Kangaroo

Detail

Based on Canadian experience with the Ram Kangaroo in NW Europe, it was simply a matter of removing the turret to provide a well for the carriage of infantry.

In Italy, Sherman Mk III tanks were converted for use by the British Eighth Army.

Removing the turret of the Sherman and some internal fittings gave room for carrying up to ten troops.

The Kangaroo was used to good effect by the 4th Hussars in the Italian campaign.
