The advance of the 7th Hussars during 9th December was so well directed by Lt Col Byass that the left flank of the 4 Armd Bde was assured at an early hour.
On 26th June 1944 Lt.Col FARQUHAR played a predominant part in an attack by 17th Indian Infantry Brigade NE of RIPA.
Since 16th June 44 the 7th Queen’s Own Hussars have been under my command, fighting side by side with my Brigade.
During the action at MECHILI on the 24th January 1941, Major Jayne, who was in command of a light tank squadron was withdrawing under heavy fire, from about 10 medium tanks, when he noticed three members of a knocked out tank running from the enemy some distance behind him.
Major Butler has commanded B Squadron, 8th Hussars since last February and in every action in which his Squadron has taken part he has proved himself a brilliant commander.
