On 26th June 1944 Lt.Col FARQUHAR played a predominant part in an attack by 17th Indian Infantry Brigade NE of RIPA. He led his Regiment in close contact with the enemy with great dash and skill and completely regardless of personal risk.

So well was the Regiment handled that heavy casualties were inflicted on the enemy at little loss to ourselves, several guns and much enemy equipment was destroyed and our infantry were enabled to advance some 2000 yards with only slight opposition.
