The 3rd King’s Own Hussars
The 3rd (The King’s Own) Hussars was a cavalry regiment of the British Army, first raised in 1685.
It saw service for three centuries, including the First World War and the Second World War, before being amalgamated with the 7th Queen’s Own Hussars, to form the Queen’s Own Hussars in November 1958.
In the build up to D-Day we must also remember that the 3rd, 4th and 7th Hussars were all fighting in the so called soft underbelly of Italy in 1944.
The Gong has an important part to play in the interior domestic economy, if one may use the term, of the British Army.

In Memoriam – It is with regret that the Regimental Association announces the deaths of our members and friends.

Lt John Hodges, M.C. served with the 3rd Hussars. He died on the 23rd of September 2014.
WO1 (RSM) D. D. Bunker served with the 3rd Hussars. He died on the 2nd of March 1989.
