France and Flanders, 1914-18

During The Great War of 1914-1918, the Allied Forces of Belgium, France, Great Britain, Portugal and the United States (from April 1918) made a stand against the Imperial German Army’s advance and occupation of Belgium from the 4^th of August 1914 and north-eastern France from the 6^th of August 1914.

The outcome of the battles resulted in the formation of a battlefront, which saw three years of attrition warfare in 1915, 1916 and 1917, with only a few months of mobile warfare at the start and at the end of four years of fighting.

The Honour was awarded to the 4^th Hussars.
