4th Queen's Own Hussars, Gallantry Citations, The Great War 1914-18, The Military Cross (MC)

For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty.

He led a patrol with great skill and initiative.

Despite heavy machine-gun fire and rifle fire he obtained the information required, and retired with only one casualty.
