Every time his squadron was in action this N.C.O. showed courage and initiative and was a good example to his men.
On one occasion he engaged an enemy column with his troop and inflicted heavy losses. At the night battle of CAPUZZO – 29/30 Jun 40 – he was cool under heavy fire and helped to direct other tanks. On patrol he sent back very useful information and showed great initiative in obtaining it.
