With the help from Lt Col (retd ) Paul Hodgson our curator Andy travelled to Yarm to commemorate Thomas Brown, a hero of the regiment.

We were joined by a group of veterans and together we visited his grave and pub he ran which has now been converted to a dwelling. The event was rounded off with a pub lunch in Yarm.

The day was made even more special thanks to the incredible hospitality of the Yarm Town Hall Heritage Centre, who have a unique display on Thomas Brown including a silver replica nose.

As part of the commemoration,  the Heritage Centre were presented with a framed information poster and book about Thomas Brown.

A heartfelt thank you to the veterans of the regiment who joined our curator in marking this important occasion. It was a truly memorable day, and we are so pleased to have shared it with those who came together to honour Thomas Brown’s legacy!
