Lieutenant Raymond Lonsdale, 4th Queen’s Own Hussars, was fatally wounded near Hazebrouk and died in hospital on the 30th October 1914, aged 22.

He was laid to rest on the 31st of October 1914.

He is remembered at Christ Church, Willaston, Ellesmere Port, Cheshire, where a plaque was erected in his memory.
