Tony died on 26 October 2005 at the age of 55.

He served with the Band of The Queen’s Royal Irish Hussars under the direction of Bandmaster PB Smith.

Tony came from Belfast and was very ambitious and wanted to do so many things. In his home town of Belfast, he became a very talented Boxer. He joined the Army and became a musician, as he always had a great love for music.

While serving in Paderborn, Germany, the band played at many festivals, at one festival in a small village called Sommersell, is where Tony met his wife Maria.

Sommersell became Tony’s home, he settled down there after leaving the Army.

Tony was very involved with all aspects of music in the village he was teaching, performed in the local band and played a big role in village life.

Tony was a great family man, a loving husband to Maria and a wonderful father to David and Daniela. He was very proud of them. He supported his son, grandsons and son-in-law in football and was normally the loudest supporter when they played.

Tony also leaves behind his three grandchildren, Sven, Jonas and Eileen.

Tony was very proud that he had served with The Queen’s Royal Irish Hussars. He was present with his son David at the last Band Reunion held in Retford, Nottinghamshire in 2003.

Tony will leave a large space in many people’s lives, but he will never be forgotten.
