Percy Whittaker joined the 3rd Hussars in India and served with the Regiment at Lucknow and York.

He was a keen sportsman, a good horseman and a games player with a friendly and cheerful outlook.

Unfortunately, he contracted at Lucknow a virus which he was unable to throw off for some years. He left the Regiment at York but returned on the outbreak of war.

He was detached from the Regiment and did not return.

It was sad that his illness spoilt a promising career. Our deepest sympathy is extended to his widow.
