Anthony died on 10 February 1988.

He was educated at Harrow and joined the 4th Queen’s Own Hussars in June 1939 at Tidworth.

He embarked with them for the Middle East in November 1940.

He was promoted to Captain in September 1941 and awarded the MC.

He was taken prisoner in June 1942.

He arrived back in the UK in April 1945 and was posted to the RAC Depot.

His award of the MBE was promulgated in April 1946.

He joined the Regular Army Reserve Officers’ Pool in 1949 in the rank of Captain and remained in the pool until July 1966.
