All those who served with Arthur will have felt the deepest sense of loss at the news of his death.

Babby Gamuck, as he was popularly known, enlisted in the Royal Armoured Corps in 1956.

Arthur served the 8th Hussars faithfully, with the majority of his service in ‘C’ Squadron, The Queen’s Royal Irish Hussars.

It was with 6th Troop ‘C’ Squadron in Borneo that Arthur was always on hand to help, advise and be sympathetic when necessary, a smile ever ready to see the lighter side of things.

He was a man who never sought the limelight.

His quiet sense of humour and his complete calm will be sadly missed by all.

Arthur was very proud of his Regiment and we in turn were proud of him. We have all lost a friend.
