Basil died on 3 October 1993.
He joined The 8th King’s Royal Irish Hussars from the Polish army in 1947 when they were stationed at Lingen.
He moved with the Regiment to Leicester East Airfield and then on to Tidworth prior to going to Korea with them.
He spent a year in Luneburg with the 8th Hussars before taking his discharge and settling in Leicester.
He was a founder member of Leicester Troop and attended many of the events.
