Tex died on 7 January 1991. He joined the 4th Queen’s Own Hussars in July 1948 whilst they were stationed at Colchester, as part of the build-up for the Regiment’s move to Malaya.
In May 1952 he was posted to The Shropshire Yeomanry, from where he took his release in July 1953.
