George died on 24 November 1994.

He joined the Hussars of the Line in October 1920 and was posted to the I Cavalry Depot. On 20 October 1920, he was posted to the 4th Queen’s Own Hussars while they were stationed at Aldershot.

He moved with them to Muttra, India, in 1921, In February 1928, being time expired, he transferred to the 10th Hussars in the UK and retired in March 1928, having completed his engagement.

He spent six and a half of his seven-and-a-half years of service in India.

George kept in contact with the Regimental Association until just before he died. He used to make an annual donation to the funds.
