Jack died on 31 December 1987 at the age of 64.

He joined the Cavalry in January 1942 and was posted to the 1st Royal Gloucestershire Hussars, and remained with them until April 1944 when the RGH was disbanded and those that were left joined other RAC Regiments.

Jack, with many other Gloucestershire Hussars, was lucky enough to join the 8th Hussars and remained with them until being posted to The Royal Wiltshire Yeomanry in July 1945.

He left the Army in July 1946.

On returning to civilian life, Jack started work with the Gas Board and stayed with them until his retirement.

Jack was a very good artist and presented to the Regimental Association a lovely Pastel drawing of the Guidon Ceremony at the Tercentenary Weekend in Munster in May 1985.
