He enlisted on 19 May 1959 at Co Tyrone, Northern Ireland and joined The Queen’s Royal Irish Hussars after training at Catterick.

He would have been known to his Army pals as Ken or Big Spud. The largest part of his Army career was spent in UK and BAOR.

He was on active service with the Regiment in the Far East 1962/64 and held the General Service Medal with clasp ‘Borneo’ and ‘Malay Peninsula’. He completed his colour service on 8 May 1970.

Ken will be sadly missed by his wife Lorraine and his three grown-up sons, Robert, Alan and Raymond, also relatives and close friends.
