Bill Derwin died on 27th October 1988.

He joined the 4th Queen’s Own Hussars at York in January 1931 and remained with them until transferring to the Reserve in 1937.

He was recalled for the War, but not to the 4th Hussars.

He served with various Corps and Schools during the period 1939-45, including the Royal Military Police, the RAC and the RAOC.

He also served in France from January to May 1940.
