It is with the deepest regret that we have to announce the death of LCpl Waddington, who died as a result of an accident on the ranges at Abbassia in September 1927.

LCpl Waddington transferred to the 3rd Hussars from the Royal Army Medical Corps when the Regiment was in Turkey, on the 9th of May 1923.

He was first posted to the Machine Gun Troop in Headquarters Squadron. As a qualified gunner, he was transferred to “B” Squadron in 1925, where he was shortly after promoted to the rank of Lance Corporal.

His death was felt keenly by all who knew him.

LCpl Waddington was aged 25, of a happy disposition and a good sportsman.
