Major Whiston died suddenly on December 30th, 1963, at his home in Surrey.

He joined the 3rd Hussars at Shorncliffe and went to France with the Regiment in 1914. He saw service in Palestine with the Yeomanry and returned to the Regiment at the end of the war serving with it at Aldershot, in Turkey and in Egypt until he retired in 1926.

He was re-employed in the last war and held Staff Employments in England and North Africa.

He was a gay and amusing companion and there will be many who are sad at his passing.
