Posted in, in the rank of corporal he was promoted to Sergeant in 1974.

He was essentially an MT man but was moved to Admin Troop of HQ Squadron in 1978 having been recognised as a good administrator.

Here he was a great success taking a great load off the SQMS and was willing to take on many of those tasks that were not popular with many.

He was also a qualified testing officer for learner drivers. Always cheerful, no matter what the difficulties, and very much ‘Wildo’.

Discharged in 1992 he settled in Doncaster where he worked until his retirement.

Born in Barmborough, Yorkshire, he died on 2 November 2005 aged 68.
