Arthur died on 23 March 2007, aged 78.
He enlisted on 6 March 1947 and on 3 April 1947 was posted to The Royal Armoured Corps.
After training he was posted, on 29 August 1947, to The 8th King’s Royal Irish Hussars, then stationed at Lingen (BAOR).
On the return of the Regiment to the UK (Leicester East Airfield) in February 1948, Arthur remained in BAOR at ERE.
He returned to the UK on 21 March 1949 and took his discharge on 13 April 1949.
He joined the Regimental Association in August 1995.
