Dennis, who was born on 19 December 1926, died on 6 January 2001.

He enlisted into the Army in January 1945 and after basic training, he was posted to the 4th Hussars then in CMF(North Italy/Austria).

In March 1947 he was posted to HQ Squadron, 1 Armd Div then in Middle East Land Forces (Palestine).

His service ended in April 1948 when he was discharged to civil life.

Initially, he lived in Camberley, Surrey, but he and his wife eventually moved to Colyton, Devon. In 1999 he had surgery on his heart which prevented him from attending the Regimental Association dinner in London.

Several of his service pals attended his funeral on 15 January 2001 in Devon.
