Hugh died on 26 February 1992.

He joined the Irish Hussar’s in May 1961 when the Regiment was at Tidworth.

He was among those of the Regiment who were sent to Aden to reinforce The Carabiniers due to the crisis brewing up in the Persian Gulf and Kuwait.

He served with the Regiment in Aden and the Far East. Then he went ERE for a year to the Joint Services Staff College.

He returned to the Regiment in Bovington from where he took his discharge.

Dinger was a Regimental character who, on occasions, caused the writer of this Obituary a little heartache.
