Harry died on 9 October 2000 aged 73 years.

He enlisted in the Army in March 1945 and after basic training with 30 PTW, he was transferred to the RAC where he trained as a driver/operator.

Following his training, he was posted to the Recce Corps, but this only lasted for a short time as he was put on draft to CMF and the 4th Hussars in February 1946.

Within a few months of joining his Regiment, he was promoted to lance corporal but within six weeks of the event he reverted to Trooper at his own request and he remained in this rank for the remainder of his service, which ended in December 1952.

He saw virtually the whole of his service in ‘B’ Squadron 4th Hussars and this was discharged in Italy, Germany, Malaya, Hong Kong and the UK.

Harry lived in Sutton, Surrey in the latter days of his life and was unmarried. May he rest in peace.
