James died on 8 November 1988.
He joined the Queen’s Royal Irish Hussars at Hohne in January 1961.
He moved to Aden with the Regiment in October 1961 and to the Far East in October 1962.
He spent a few weeks in Wolfenbuttel with the Regiment but was then posted to FVRDE at Kirkcudbright.
He left the Army in September 1966.
