Mr Leonard Pay accidentally drowned while trying to clear a blocked culvert on the 16th of September 1967, Aged 66.

He served with the 7th Hussars from early 1919 to March 1926. His rank on retirement was Trooper.

On leaving the Army he worked as a chauffeur to Rear-Admiral R. St. Vincent Sherbrooke, V.C., on whose estate the accident occurred.

Leonard Pay was very proud of his Regiment. He was a loyal and active supporter of all Regimental Association activities. A very likeable man with a great sense of humour, he will be sadly missed by all those who were privileged to know and serve with him.

We extend our deepest sympathy to his wife and family.
