Trooper Leigh Sankey died on 21 March 1992.

He had joined the Regiment on the UN Line in Cyprus in January 1991.

When the Regiment returned to Hohne he moved to ‘D’ Squadron as a gunner. He had an excellent first range period and demonstrated pride in his work.

He was an extremely hard worker both on the park and on exercise. A keen sportsman, he played in goal for his Squadron and was on the fringe of the Regimental side.

He thoroughly enjoyed all aspects of Regimental life and will be missed by all who knew him. Our deepest sympathies are extended to his family.
