Steven Odell joined the Irish Hussars in August 1978. He was posted to ‘D’ Squadron where he quickly shone as a highly competent crewman and also as a games player.

He was one of a number who volunteered to go to Canada with ‘C’ Squadron to train within a battlegroup in Suffield.

It was in Canada, during training, that he was tragically killed on 4th May 1979.

During his short time with us, Steve became a popular member of the Squadron and was conspicuous by his cheerfulness and keenness.
