Bill died on 22 February 1995.

He joined the 7th Queen’s Own Hussars in June 1952 while they were stationed in Fallingbostel. He moved with them to Hong Kong in August 1954 and left them in August 1955 to return to the UK to take his discharge.

After retirement on medical grounds, Bill took a great interest in welfare matters and did a lot for Wirral Community Transport by organising the getting of people to and from the hospital in community ambulances, driving himself also, and related matters. He was a staunch supporter of the Regimental Association.
