From Oct 23rd – Nov 3rd 1942 Tpr Worsdell was the driver of a “jeep” – an unarmoured vehicle – on Regimental H.Q. of 3rd The K.O. Hussars.

During this period he accompanied the regiment into every action they fought. The services he rendered, both with regard to intercommunication and the evacuation of wounded men, were invaluable.

He was almost continually under shell fire, which was at times very heavy, but never allowed this to interfere with the execution of his duty.

The spectacle of this “jeep”, flitting about the battlefield was a source of admiration and an inspiration to all.
