Chris died on 23rd September 1988.

He joined the 3rd Hussars in August 1935 and was posted to the 8th Hussars in January 1937.

He served with them in Egypt, in the desert campaigns up until May 1942, when he was taken Prisoner at Bir Hacheim.

He rejoined the Regiment at Lingen in August 1947, going to Korea with them in October 1950, and remained with them until his retirement in August 1957.

Chris was a well-known character in the Regiment and did sterling service as the Regimental Bus Driver in Luneburg.

He carried on this trade in civilian life.

He was a loyal Association member and a regular attendee at Regimental events.
