David died on 18 February 1997, aged 65.

He joined the 8th King’s Royal Irish Hussars at Leicester East Airfield in September 1949 and was posted to ‘A’ Squadron.

On the formation of ‘C’ Squadron in early 1950, he was transferred and joined 4th Troop. He sailed with the Regiment to Korea on the SS Empire Fowey on 12 October 1950 and arrived in Pusan on 14 November 1950. He took part in the Imjin Battle from 22 to 25 April 1951 on the Troop Corporal’s tank.

He served in Luneburg until leaving the Regiment on release on 15 May 1954, having given almost five years of loyal service to the 8th Hussars.

He returned to Lincolnshire and took up employment as a stores accountant with Newage International, an electrical firm, and remained with them in various jobs until his retirement in November 1996.

In 1957 he married Jean and had three children, two boys and a girl. To them all, we extend our sincere condolences.
