Derek died on 9th July 1989, aged 60 years.
I am sure many of Derek’s comrades will remember him.
He joined the 8th King’s Royal Irish Hussars in June 1949 and served with them until November 1952.
He served with the Regiment in Korea.
Whilst there he was in ‘A’ Squadron and saw action with Cooper Force.
On his return from Korea, he moved with the Regiment to Luneburg and left in October 1952.
He was discharged in November at the end of his engagement.
Derek was also a member of the Korean Veterans’ Association and was always a very proud member of his Regiment.
