George died on 30 January 1999.
He joined the 8th King’s Royal Irish Hussars while they were stationed in Oadby, Leicester in 1949. He came into MT Troop.
When the Regiment moved to Tidworth prior to embarking to go to Korea in 1950.
George went into Recce Troop as an armoured car driver and did this job till the end of his service. On returning home the Regiment went to Luneburg.
George was posted to the 7th Armoured Brigade HQ where he stayed before his demob. He was popular with all who met him. He will be missed by all his comrades.
