During the period 30 Jun 42 until Oct 42 this trooper has been in action on many occasions, and has consistently shown gallantry and devotion to duty far beyond that which is reasonably expected of a soldier of his rank.

A typical example of this was seen on 2 Sept 42 near HEMEIMAT when he was driver of a tank which took part in a successful attack on enemy arty and M.T. When under heavy fire, he dismounted from his tank to assist another tank which was disabled.

His courage and disregard of danger enabled the damaged tank to be towed away. On this and on many other occasions in action Tpr Corley has consistently shown coolness and courage in an exceptional degree.
