Sgt Frank Clowrey, who died so tragically on 15 September 1981, joined the Queen’s Own Hussars in Hong Kong in 1968 on transfer from The Life Guards.

He served with Assault Troop until the Regiment moved to Hohne when he joined MT Troop; remaining with the Troop ever since at Bovington and Detmold.

On joining he immediately became a popular and well-liked member of the Regiment, noted for his kindness, generosity and willingness to assist others.

He will be deeply missed and long remembered by us all. Our deepest sympathy is extended to his widow, Anna, and the children.
