Frank died on 6 October 1986.
He enlisted into the Royal Armoured Corps in June 1942.
He did his training with 57 Training Regiment and subsequently served in the 148th Regt, 43rd RTR, 52nd Trg Regt and 8th RTR.
He left the Army in March 1947 having, during his service, seen action in North-West Europe and Italy, and subsequently from January 1946 until December 1946 was posted to the Middle East.
He re-enlisted in November 1947 and was posted to the 4th Queen’s Own Hussars in December 1947.
He sailed for Malaya with the Regiment and served in Malaya, Hong Kong and Singapore. He was Mentioned in Despatches in April 1951.
From 1955 he served at the Training Regiment, rejoining the 4th Hussars in Hohne just prior to Amalgamation.
He served in Aden and the Far East with the ‘Irish Hussars’ and moved with them to Wolfenbuttel. He retired from the Army in March 1968.
Frank, a West Countryman, was loyal, hard-working and a good friend. He maintained the highest standards in all aspects of Regimental Duty that he was involved in.
He was a prominent member of the Sergeants’ Mess and in later years was invaluable in ensuring that the accommodation stores were present and correct.
