This officer has been a troop leader throughout the Italian campaign. He has shown himself to be quite fearless and his coolness and leadership have been an inspiration to all.

On the night of April 27th after swimming the PO, this officer’s troop was ordered to support an attack by a Coy of 2RB on the village of CAVAZZANA.

Although it was raining hard and the visibility reduced to nil, Lt Skrine led his troop straight into the village which was guarded by an A/Tk gun, taking the enemy completely by surprise and capturing over 200 PW and a quantity of booty.

It was entirely due to his bold action that the village was taken without casualties to the infantry or himself.

This is characteristic of this officer’s leadership and coolness in action.
