On 31 Aug 1942, near HEMEIMAT, this officer was commanding a troop of three tanks.

By skillful handling of his troop he engaged two A/Tk guns and enabled our 6 pdrs to withdraw to a more covered position.

Within the next 30 minutes he engaged 5 enemy tanks with his troop and closed a gap in a minefield under fire.

When one of his tanks was hit, killing the driver, he went forward himself and drove the tank under cover, sitting on top of the dead driver.
