Tom died in 1993.

He joined the 8th King’s Royal Irish Hussars in 1949, while they were stationed at Leicester East Airfield, and was posted to MT Troop, ‘A’ Squadron.

He was a fine sportsman and was the troop, squadron goalkeeper and, for a time, the Regimental one.

In Korea, he drove the squadron water cart and could be relied upon to find water and deliver it to the troop, no matter what the terrain or weather conditions.

He was a cheerful, kind and caring person who was popular with all and got on with the job. He will be missed by his comrades of those far-off days.
