Major Percival Henry Huth DSO

Henry Huth, the apparently fearless commander of the 8th Hussars ‘C’ Squadron (left) and Colonel Albert Crahey, the hugely respected CO of the Belgian Battalion.

Just hours after this picture was taken, Crahay was badly wounded, and Huth was engaged in a desperate holding action. Note, however, that despite the imminent peril facing the brigade – which will have to withdraw from contact down a valley overlooked by the enemy on the high ground – Huth appears to be having the time of his life.
